Relay for Life Gilroy

Once again this year, I am joining members of my office to participate in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life®. The Relay will take place at Christmas Hill on June 18 and 19. Relay For Life® is much more than a walk around a track. It is a time to remember those lost to cancer and to celebrate those who have survived.

So what happens when you support the American Cancer Society through Relay For Life®? You help us save lives, you help those who have been touched by cancer, and you help empower individuals to fight back against this disease. Here's how:

Every dollar you donate makes a difference to people in our community whose lives are touched by cancer. Millions of lives have been saved as a result, including people you may know.

Are you ready to get involved? It's easy! You can make a donation online at www.main.acsevents.org/goto/tammie.jann. If you are a survivor, you can participate in the opening ceremony and walk alongside fellow survivors in a victory lap.

Christmas Hill Ranch Site
7049 Miller Ave.
Gilroy, CA 95020

Opening Ceremony - 6/18/2010 6:00 pm
Survivor Lap - 6/18/2010 6:30 pm
Luminaria Ceremony - 6/18/2010 9:30 pm
Closing Ceremony - 6/19/2010 5:30 pm

Another part of Relay For Life® involves placing luminarias around the track. Luminarias are glowing bags, paper sacks filled with sand and candles. Upon closer examination, these bags represent people, each with a name and a story to tell. Luminarias are available for a contribution to the American Cancer Society.

If you prefer not to donate you can purchase a luminaria for your loved ones and friends who have experienced cancer on my Relay for Life Website.

Thank you for your donations.
